Sometimes we feel overwhelmed, stuck, lost or confused. Through counselling you can learn to understand your thoughts, feelings and reactions. With support you can find your way through your challenges.
Apricity means “the warmth of the sun in Winter” - and I feel counselling can also be a way to feel the comforting presence of light in darker times. I want to help you find your own inner light to guide your way forward.
Change is possible if you want it to be. I believe you already have all you need in you to be how you want to be. I offer a helping hand to uncover what’s getting in the way and support you in practicing new ways of being.
I’m down-to-earth, chatty and compassionate. I will encourage and challenge you to explore yourself, but always at your pace. Starting counselling can be daunting but you’ve come this far, so let’s have a chat to see if it feels right to work together.
I'm a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I provide a supportive relationship to explore what’s going on for you. I will listen in order to understand you, without judgment and in complete privacy, to nurture trust in me and in yourself.
I'm an 'integrative' counsellor, so I combine different skills and techniques that help you explore your thoughts, emotions and your somatic (body) experience. You'll learn to identify and process your emotions and develop cognitive and somatic strategies to build confidence and resilience. My aim is that you develop self-compassion, self-awareness and confidence in your autonomy.
Being able to talk freely can be liberating and enlightening in itself. But also being curious about how emotions are held within your body and affect your overall wellbeing, can help you feel physically and mentally better.
I am a trauma-informed therapist. I have trained in many approaches including Internal Family Systems therapy, Compassionate Inquiry, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic therapy, Mindfulness, CBT, Gestalt and Transactional analysis.
I offer face-to-face sessions or outdoors where we can walk and talk. If better for you, we can also meet online.
I work with young people (16+ years) and adults (although not cats currently!), welcoming all cultures and identities across a broad range of issues. I provide non-judgmental empathy, a supportive compassionate style and even a bit of humour if that helps! I love nurturing young people as they learn to navigate the challenges of life. But as adults, we can also need support while evolving and discovering how to move forward on our journey.
I love “apricity” - the warmth of the Winter sun. When it feels gloomy, sunlight brings colour, clarity and contrast. It brightens details not seen or appreciated for a while. The sun does hide behind the clouds, but it’s always there waiting to shine again. I believe there is also light within each of us but sometimes our own clouds get in the way. Together, we can find your light within you to help brighten your path ahead.
You are welcome to meet me in person in the privacy of my comfortable counselling room. Or, if better for you, we can hold sessions online. If, like me, you enjoy being outdoors, we could walk and talk together. I find moving and breathing in nature can nurture the spirit, helping us reconnect with ourselves and the world around us.

I offer a free 30 minute introductory meeting for us to get to know each other a little. You can share what’s going on for you and the support you feel you need. I’ll explain how I work and answer any queries you may have. We can decide from there if we feel we would like to work together and find time for us to meet regularly.
Sessions are 50 minutes and I work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We can meet in person in my comfortable counselling room in Farthinghoe, halfway between Banbury and Brackley. If you prefer to walk and talk, we can find a mutually agreed location in the nearby countryside.
Although I prefer to meet in person, I do offer sessions online or over the phone. This may help if you live further away or if it’s difficult for you to come to Farthinghoe.
Sessions are £60. I offer limited concessions and will try to help if I can.
Walk and talk sessions may need to be priced higher to accommodate travel time.
All sessions to be paid via bank transfer in advance or by cash on the day as per my cancellation policy in my counselling agreement.
You’ve come this far so I hope you'll be in touch. Drop me a message to arrange an introductory chat or to ask any questions. We can talk through how counselling may be helpful for you and see whether I’m the right therapist to support you.
You’re also welcome to call or text me on 07359 375471.
